Bangkok Pass Calculator: Worth It? (2026)

Bangkok changed in 2024: Go City closed its Bangkok pass, so the real question now is a single flexible city pass versus just booking tickets. And the sight everyone wants, the Grand Palace, is not reliably on any pass. Tick your list and see what actually saves you money.

1. Who's going, and for how long?

Days matter for unlimited passes; pick-a-number passes give you weeks.

2. What do you want to see?

Gate prices are our researched baselines (as of July 2026).

Covered by: Bangkok City Pass
No Bangkok pass bundles the BTS Skytrain; a 1-day BTS pass is about $4.50. Some passes include the Chao Phraya tourist boat as one of your picks, but that is a river loop, not the Skytrain. Baht prices were converted in July 2026 and move: confirm before buying.
Book your picks individually

Live prices for the attractions you ticked above. Buying these one by one is the honest option whenever a pass doesn't beat the gate.

How the Bangkok passes actually work

Is a Bangkok pass worth it?

It is a closer call than it used to be. Go City closed its Bangkok pass in 2024, so the main option now is a flexible pick-5 city pass. It pays off if your five picks are the pricier items, the SkyWalk, the aquarium, a river cruise, but Bangkok's temples are cheap, so a temple-heavy day is usually better bought at the gate.

Is the Grand Palace on the pass?

Do not count on it. The Grand Palace is Bangkok's top sight, but it has a long history of restricting third-party ticket resale, and it is not reliably included on the city pass. We price it as an uncovered ticket, and you should plan to buy it at the gate.

What about getting around?

No pass includes the BTS Skytrain, which is how most visitors beat Bangkok traffic. A day pass is only about $4.50, so budget it separately. Some passes include the Chao Phraya tourist boat as one of your picks, which is scenic but slower.
