Frequently asked questions
How many days do you need in Japan?
Seven days covers Tokyo and Kyoto comfortably. Ten days is the common first-trip length and adds Osaka. Two weeks lets you reach Hiroshima and take day trips without rushing.
Is Japan expensive to travel?
Less than many expect. Mid-range hotels, fast trains and cheap, excellent food keep daily costs reasonable. The biggest variable is intercity rail, where a Japan Rail Pass can save money on longer routes.
